Cleanse Recipe: Swiss Chard & Broccoli Saute

Need to get in your daily greens?  This recipe is for you.  Easy, quick and delicious, this recipe works perfectly as a healthy and cleansing side dish.  Bragg Liquid Aminos taste somewhat like soy sauce, but are not processed and are lower in sodium.  I often replace soy sauce with Bragg as a healthy alternative.

Ingredients:

2 c. broccoli florets (or 1 medium head of broccoli, chopped)

1 clove garlic, minced

4-6 leaves Swiss chard, coarsely chopped (cut out ribbed stems, and chop up just the leaves)

1 t. organic cold pressed olive oil

Juice of half a lemon

1 t. Bragg Liquid Aminos (or more, to taste)

Sea salt, to taste (optional)

 

Instructions:

Fill pan with 1/2 inch to 1 inch of water.  Bring to boil.  Put broccoli and garlic in pan and water saute until the broccoli turns bright green (~5 minutes).  Add the chard and steam for an additional 2 minutes, stirring.  Remove from heat and drain in colander.  Immediately add lemon juice, Bragg, and olive oil.  Add sea salt, if preferred, to taste.  Toss and serve immediately.
