Cleanse Recipe: Arugula Salad with Raisins, Almonds, and Lemon Honey Dressing

When you’re cleansing, you should be eating a good balance of dark leafy greens, fresh fruits, and nuts.  This salad is yummy, and has a nice balance of bitter and sweet.  Unlike other meals you might make while cleansing, it’s easy to throw together in 5 minutes if you have the ingredients on hand.  I recommend using raw honey, or agave nectar, in this recipe.


3 c. fresh organic arugula

1/4 c. organic raisins

1/4 c. organic raw almonds, or slivered almonds

1/2 organic Granny Smith apple, or Golden Delicious apple, diced

1 tbsp. organic cold pressed extra virgin olive oil

Juice of 1/2 a lemon

1 tsp. raw honey or agave nectar

Salt, to taste (optional — it’s healthier without the salt)



Whisk the olive oil, lemon juice, honey/agave nectar, and/or salt together.  Toss the dressing with the remaining ingredients and enjoy!
